What is a formulated meal replacement?
A formulated meal replacement is a dietary supplement designed to provide the nutrients and energy required by the body in the form of a drink. These are commonly used during times of illness or when it is not possible to eat the required amount of food to provide the body with its required nutrients. It is not a complete meal replacement, therefore both energy and nutrients are required to be consumed from dietary sources in addition to the recommended 55g per day of protein. It can also be used in smaller amounts to supplement a diet lacking in nutrients or for those requiring more energy and protein in their daily diets.

What does RAAS taste like?
At the current time we offer a pleasant rich vanilla flavor. Some say it is similar to soy vanilla milk. RAAS Nutritionals can be mixed with water or milk to reach desired consistency. It is made using rich french vanilla.

How should I use RAAS?
RAAS powder can be mixed with water or milk to make a pleasant healthy drink.

How long can I keep RAAS Nutritionals for after opening?
After being mixed RAAS Nutritionals mixture should be used promptly or covered, refrigerated and used within 1 day. Opened canissters should be covered with cap and stored in a cool, dry place, but not refrigerated. Once opened use contents within 30 days.

Why do we need protein?
Proteins are long chain structures made up of individual “building blocks” called amino-acids. They are essential to the growth, maintenance, and repair of all cells within our body. They are also involved in metabolic processes ( immune cells, enzymes for digestion and matabolism, hormones for body regulation such as insulin ). Without protein, we are unable to repair wounds, fight infections, maintain muscle structure, grow and many other essential life processes.

What are some good food sources of protein?
Most animals and their byproducts are a good source of protein. Meats, nuts, eggs, and RAAS Nutritionals are great sources of protein.

Is RAAS Nutritionals suitable for people with diabetes?
Yes, but we have a product for diabetics.

Is RAAS Nutritionals suitable for children? RAAS Nutritionals is suitable for children as long as they have been introduced to cows milk. It is best to ask your doctor or dietician what quantity should be taken. As a guide 30g of RAAS Nutritionals will give an additional 5 gram of protein.

Is RAAS Nutritionals suitable for infants?
No. RAAS Nutritionals is not designed for infants less than 4 years old.

How much RAAS Nutritionals should a person have per day?
To use RAAS Nutritionals as a formulated meal replacement it is recommended that 57g of RAAS Nutritionals be added to 6-8 fl oz of water. An aged person who is undernourished and is not able to eat normally may require 50g – 60g per day (which gives 9 gram added protein). A child may only need 30g of RAAS Nutritionals per day (which gives an additional 5 gram of protein). It is best to ask the doctor or dietician how much you should have.

Is RAAS Nutritionals recommended for children?
Children with as young as 4 years of age can enjoy RAAS Nutritionals as a great snack alternative. May only need 30 gram of RAAS Nutritionals per day Children younger than 4 years needed to consult their pediatrician.

Does RAAS Nutritionals contain Soy or Milk?
RAAS Nutritionals contain both soy and milk.

Do you recommend RAAS Nutritionals for older people?

No, RAAS Diabetic does not contain saccharin, aspartame or fructose.

How does RAAS Diabetic affect my cholesterol level?

What are complex carbohydrates, and why are they preferred?
Simple carbohydrates, like sugar and fruit, are quickly absorbed, causing abrupt blood sugar elevations. Complex carbohydrates are absorbed slower, maintaining normal blood sugar levels.

Is RAAS Diabetic recommended for 4 years children?
Children with diabetes as young as four years of age can enjoy RAAS Diabetic as a great snack alternative. Children younger than 4 years can also drink it on the advice of their pediatrician.
